Everything you need to know about EDC Mexico 2024

EDC Mexico 2024 goes on sale August 31st. Here is everything you need to know.

The similarities to EDCLV

EDC Mexico is the Mexican version of EDC Las Vegas. If you’re reading this, you’re probably familiar with EDCLV, so using that as your frame of reference:

  1. It’s also 3 days long
  2. It has most of the same stages (Circuit Grounds, Wasteland, Kinetic Field etc.)
  3. Very similar lineups
  4. Also takes place at a Speedway

Differences from EDCLV

I vastly prefer EDC Mexico over Vegas. Here are my own personal reasons why:

The venue is IN Mexico City

The Las Vegas Speedway is nowhere close to the Vegas strip which normally means you either have to

  • Camp EDC,
  • deal with shuttle busses and traffic,
  • be rich and take a helicopter.

None of these are ideal for me.

Meanwhile, the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is in Mexico City. In fact, last year, we stayed at a hotel that was walking distance from the festival grounds.

Besides the proximity, it’s cool because Mexico City has a lot to see and do besides just party, which means there’s more variety to be had than going to EDCLV where it’s just going to be non-stop partying.

It’s way cheaper

Unlike some Mexico EDM festivals that cater to Americans, EDC Mexico is predominately for Mexicans. Thus, everything is priced accordingly. Everything (festival ticket, drinks, food, hotels) is a fraction of what it costs for EDC Las Vegas

Better weather

High of 75 degrees, low of 43 degrees. Bring a hoodie for late at night but no 100 degree vegas heat stroke during the day.

The hours are Senior-Raver approved

EDCLV is famous for being from dusk til dawn. As I get older, I want to go big and then go home. EDC Mexico ends at 2 AM each night which means I get to see the closers and still go to bed before sunrise.

Convinced? OK great let’s talk logistics

Dates

In 2024 EDC Mexico will take place February 23 + 24 + 25 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City

The tickets go on sale August 31st.

We will probably arrive on Friday or Thursday night, and then stay in Mexico City a few days after the festival is over so we can do fun Mexico stuff (Pyramids anyone?)

Tickets

Unlike EDCLV, EDC Mexico probably won’t sell out. Or if it does, it won’t sell out the week it goes on sale. But prices will go up

We recommend going for Citibanamex Plus. This is the VIP level. You get VIP only areas, VIP lines, VIP flushing toilets, bars, food, hangout areas, and the coolest perk: a little golf cart shuttle that will whisk you between the furthest ends of the festival so you don’t spend all night walking.

Once the tickets are on sale I’ll add a link here. They sell through Ticketmaster so the normal fee bullshit will apply.

Hotel

Over on the right of this map, the big green blob is the Speedway where EDC happens. Over on the left of this map you can see Polanco, La Condesa, and Roma. Condesa and Roma are the hipster neighborhoods that all your friends who went to Mexico City loved staying in.

We have strategically chosen the hotel that is closest to the subway line that connects EDC Mexico to La Condesa / Roma.

That hotel is CASA NOU

This means that it will be super easy for us to get to and from the festival. We won’t get stuck in traffic on the street because we’re taking the subway. And we don’t need to make a connection because it’s directly on the same line at the Speedway. 22 minutes. Couldn’t be easier.

You can book Casa Nou on Booking.com or directly on CasaNou.MX for the best price.

PRO TIP: If you’re thinking about joining us, you can reserve a room now and cancel later. They don’t take payment until arrival and the reservation is fully flexible.

Flights

Definitely too soon to start booking flights but for our San Diego people, we’ll be flying out of Tijuana via CBX. Lots of cheap direct flights to Mexico City for less than $200 RT

“OK I’M IN. WHAT DO I DO NOW?”

First, let me know that you’re in so I can keep you posted on updates.

Second, go ahead and book a room at Casa Nou. Fully cancellable and no deposit means it’s completely risk free. We suggest book check in date Thursday 2/22/24, Check out Date Monday February 6

Third, if you’re fully committed go ahead and buy your ticket on August 31st or soon after. It’s only going to get more expensive as the date gets closer

THAT’S IT FOR RIGHT NOW.

As it gets closer we’ll figure out what else we’re going to do in Mexico City, coordinate flights, etc.
